This week the students will be reading a short fable Jack and the Wolf. Throughout the story the students will learn that the wolf is tricking his friends and lying to them. However, at the end when he really needs help none of his friends believe him. Overall, the authors purpose of this short fable is to always tell the truth. If people think you are a liar, then no one will believe you when you are telling the truth. Along, with the short story the students will reading supporting stories that will help us practice main idea and details.
The students will have a short comprehension test on: Wednesday
The students will have a vocabulary test on: Friday

This week the students will continue learning about spiders! We will be finishing a sequencing activity that goes along with The Spider's Web. We also will be creating a short video on new learning (N.L) facts that we learned on Black Widow and Tarantulas! So parents keep a lookout for the videos that will be posted soon!!!

5th graders-
We just finished reading Sadako!! The students loved the book and were extremely engaged in the reading. We will be starting our next Book Club book soon! It also will be a historical fiction book!
